Stop the use of Children as Soldiers in Burma

Burma uses more Child Soldiers than any country in the world. In 2002 Human Rights Watch estimated 70,000 soldiers in the Burma Army are below the age of 18. This is a massive problem that few are struggling to address.

The recruitment of children is a war crime under international law and the destruction of childhood is very wrong. The recruitment process is often committed in the most brutal manner involving abduction, extended periods in detention, beating and other mistreatment.

Numerous young men recount traumatic experiences of having seen civilians being injured, killed, raped and tortured and having been forced to commit the same acts themselves.

This issue must be dealt with by both the international community and all people of Burma.

We demand the Burmese Generals are brought before the International Criminal Court to answer for War Crimes and Crimes against Humanity.

Help us care for those affected and bring those responsible for these crimes to justice.

Please stand with us against this heinous crime.
